Wanderings and Workings on the Farm

Weeding the Spinach after some nice early summer and very needed rain.

Our new Himrod table grapes

Mountains of chicken manure.... A long overdue cleaning of the coop.

Welcoming delphiniums

Peppers, cucumbers, ornamental sweet potato vine and Ally's new seed viewer.

Hiving our new bee packages.... happy little beezers.

The first pass with the new hiller and mulch layer

Making the raised beds with water permeable plastic mulch

Planting our flowers

The first fruit of the season!  Oh-so-warm-and-yummy!

Just how many seedlings did I start?  1500 plants later.....

Ornamental Kale - a new experiment for this year
Today's Journey Joys: Much needed rain nourishing our berries and plants, a rain-free farmer's market, red poppies blooming, the beets growing, strawberries ripening, special time with son, baby chicks thriving and "teenage" ones growing big and fat, Saturday night church.

Spring Time Joys

Today's Journey Joys: Delicate creamy white tulips, striated yellow on red, red raspberry plants potted for sale, abundant rain, blueberries blooming, bumbles bumble-izing, gold finches scurrying, the smell of fresh cut grass.
